Melissa's passion for health & fitness began with an effort to improve her own well-being. From a young age she had digestion problems and often struggled with the ups and downs of weight gain. Through trial, error and much research she found that an all natural, whole foods diet, along with regular exercise was her answer to improving her issues. She was able to lose weight (and keep it off), improve her digestion, increase her energy and greatly improve her mood.
While on her path toward well-being, Melissa began studying holistic nutrition and became trained in modern health counseling, as well as Eastern and Western dietary theories from the Institute for Integrative Nutrition, which is affiliated with Columbia University. She is also certified through the American Association of Drugless Practitioners. Melissa is currently studying to take the AFAA group instructor certification and is an avid participant in various fitness classes. Both exercise and nutrition have become her passion. Melissa's clients are inspired and motivated by her energy, enthusiasm and personal experience.
