About Urban Athletics

URBAN ATHLETICS Urban Athletics is owned and operated by Jerry Macari and his wife Cara. Jerry is a well known top runner in NYC, former New York Road Runners Club "Master Runner of the Year" and US Track and Field Certified Coach. Cara is an accomplished distance runner, and a New York Road Runner Club 2009 "Runner of the Year" award nominee. Jerry opened the first Urban Athletics in the World Financial center in 1995. Since then, he has expanded the business by adding a second location on Madison Avenue. Urban Athletics has become a home to runners for camaraderie, gear and advice. This year, Urban Athletics was named Shecky's "Best Running Shoe Store in NYC."

Madison Avenue location is conveniently located 160 meters from Central Park. Our World Financial Center location is located a few steps from the Hudson River Park jogging path. Groups and clubs are welcome to drop their gear at the stores, during store hours.
