Jim Saint-Amour Jim Saint-Amour is a nationally certified coach through the Road Runners Club of America (R.R.C.A.). His coaching experience is varied. He has coached runners of different experience levels. His first experience as a head coach involved leading a group of novice runners through a 4 month program which culminated in a 5 mile road race in Central Park. 90% of the runners successfully completed the race, and several of them continue to actively participate in races up to the half-marathon distance. Jim was also an assistant coach during 2009 as part of a marathon training program to a group of approximately 60 runners. He has been an active runner and racer since Junior High school. His specialties now include the marathon, of which he is a veteran of 12. and ultra-marathon distances, of which he has completed one 50 mile trail race. He is currently training for and plans to compete in the Vermont 100 ultramarathon, which is one of 4 Grand Slam ultras in the United States. His personal best for the marathon is a 2:55, which occurred at the Philadelphia Marathon in 2007. In addition to running in the United States, Jim has run all over the world, including Europe and the South Pacific. He brings his love of history and running together to offer historical tours of the downtown Manhattan area. Jim always look out for the individual runner and their goals, whether that runner is part of an individual or group program. His goal is to make all people who he coaches into life-long runners. This goal is based upon the belief of creating a foundation of enjoyment and education for his runners, so they can reach their goals and create new ones!
